MyCGPA Formula and source

Privacy

The calculators run in your browser, so your grades never reach us. Here is what does, and a button that clears whatever this site left in your browser.

The short version

The calculators on MyCGPA run entirely inside your browser. Your CGPA, your marks and your semester grades are never sent to us, so there is nothing for us to store, lose or hand over. You can verify this: open your browser's network tab and type a number into any calculator on this site — no request leaves the page.

What we do not collect

What does reach us

If you write to us

The contact form sends what you typed into it — your message, and the email address you gave so we can reply — to our mailbox. We keep the correspondence so we can follow it up, and we do not use those addresses for anything else.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records the addresses that were requested, the time, and the IP address the request came from. This is what lets us notice that a page has started failing. It contains no calculator input, because calculator input never reaches the server.

JavaScript errors

If something breaks in your browser, the page reports the error message and the address it happened on, so we can fix it. The report carries no form contents.

Cookies

Two, and neither is used to follow you anywhere.

Analytics, and the choice you get

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-KQVT3NYPPM) to see which pages people open and how many of them there are. It is run by Google, it is a third party. It works by setting two cookies of its own_ga and _ga_KQVT3NYPPM, counted in a browser rather than recalled from memory — and by sending Google the address of each page you open here, together with your approximate location, your browser and your device type. It never receives anything you typed into a calculator, because nothing you type is sent anywhere at all.

It does not run until you allow it. The bar at the bottom of the screen asks, and until you press “Allow analytics” this site makes no request to Google whatsoever — you can confirm that in the network tab of your browser. Pressing “No thanks” is remembered the same way, so you are not asked again. Changed your mind either way? Clear this site's data with the button below and the question comes back.

Clear what this site put in your browser

This removes the cookies and stored settings belonging to MyCGPA from this browser. It cannot touch anything on our side, because there is nothing of yours on our side.
